Lestine Fletcher Obituary

Lestine R. Fletcher VIRGINIA BEACH - Lestine R. Fletcher, 93, of the 1200 block of Belvoir Lane, passed away April 24, 2010 in a local hospital. She was a native of Belzoni, Miss., and a retired supervisor/social worker with the State of Connecticut. Mrs. Fletcher was predeceased by her parents, Sherman and Lillian Rogers. Lestine was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Links Inc., the Norfolk Senior Center, The Norfolk's Womens Club and a host of other social clubs. Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Jackson (Dosh); one sister, Hermione Jackson; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29, at Grace Episcopal Church, Father Harold Cobb officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The remains will be taken to church at 9:30 a.m. Thursday for visitation until the hour of service. A wake will be held Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Graves Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's or Kidney foundations. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements. www.gravesfuneralhomeinc.com.
