Linda Ducharme Obituary

Linda A. Ducharme NORFOLK - Linda A. Ducharme, known to family as "Linnie," 61, departed this life after a very long illness on April 30, 2010 with her soulmate, Janice Cournoyer by her side. Linda was born in Clinton, Mass., and graduated college with a bachelor's degree in nursing with high honors. She was director of oncology at Maryview Medical Center. Linda touched everyone's life with caring and compassion for terminally ill patients and their families. Her dedication to her work, family and friends will be profoundly missed. She is survived by her partner in life, Janice Cournoyer; her mother, Elizabeth Ducharme; her two loving daughters, Colleen Kolleda and Heather Lavin; brother, Larry Ducharme; her adorable grandson, Jake Kolleda; numerous family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church, 6900 Newport Ave., Norfolk, VA 23505, 757-423-8536, on Monday, May 3, at 7 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Martha Davis Cancer Center, 3640 High St., Suite 1E, Portsmouth, VA 23707.
