My first-grade teacher was Margaret Dowdy, at Briggs Elementary School in 1955-56. Is this the same Ms. Dowdy? I loved her so much! She walked to our house on Washington Street to visit me when I had measles, and her compassion and kindness live on, as now I am a teacher and refer often to "my 1st grade teacher".
