Marion Tisdom Obituary

Marion Allen Tisdom PORTSMOUTH - On April 25, 2010 Marion Allen Tisdom of the 100 block of Allard Road left this life to spend his eternal rest in the bosom of his heavenly Father Jesus Christ. Born in Goliad, Texas and raised in Refugio, Texas, he joined the Navy and was stationed in Virginia and made it his home. Allen, or "Tis" as he was called by so many, was a retired chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy where he served 22 years. Allen also retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a supply manager after 20 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, bowler, a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and loved to laugh, joke and smile with family and friends. Most importantly, Allen realized his life was not complete until he surrendered his will and gave his life to Jesus Christ. He is loved by so many family members and friends and will always leave a lasting impression on those who knew him. His memory will be cherished by his dear wife of 53 years, Jamie (Lott) Tisdom of Portsmouth; children, Jamie Fullford of Newport News, Connie Loggins (Kenny) of Chester, Va., Dwain Tisdom (Carol) of Portsmouth, Marian Ramirez-Powell of Chesapeake, Dwanda Whitehead (James) of Portsmouth, Ray "Dante" Tisdom (Kim) of Virginia Beach; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a special first cousin, Carl O'Reily (Jodi); very close brothers and sisters- in-law; uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his father, James Tisdom; his mother, Eunice Simms; brother, William Hutchinson; and grandson, Dwain Allen Tisdom II. A homegoing service will be held Saturday, May 1, at 1 p.m. in Calvary Evangelical Church, 205 Gust Lane, Portsmouth, with Pastor Dr. Allen R. McFarland presiding. Viewing will be held Friday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.

To the family: God Bless You . Tanya and I are praying for you during this time and as you know God has got him close to His bosom and Jesus is having a conversation with him right now. He is walking around heaven and feeling no pain. Again, God bless you and we will keep you lifted up.
