Mary Gugino Obituary

Mary Jarrell Gugino NORFOLK - Mary Jarrell Gugino, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 93 on Monday, April 26, 2010. Family and friends surrounded her in her final days. Born in Hopewell, Va., Mary spent her youth and early adult years in Newport News and later moved to Norfolk. She worked as a federal employee at Ft. Monroe and retired from the Naval Supply Center. Mary was the widow of Samuel Gugino and is survived by two daughters, Mary G. Seck and Claire V. Gugino; three granddaughters, Michelle, Kathryn and Joanna Seck; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors at the Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, on Thursday, April 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Norfolk on Friday, April 30, at 11 a.m. followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Mary, Claire, and all the family,we are so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. We felt blessed to have know her for these many years through Uncle Willie, and feel like part of her family.
