Menno Wenger Obituary

Menno P. Wenger RICHMOND - Surrounded by the love and prayers of both family and friends, Menno Payne "Buck" Wenger passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010. Buck was born Sept. 3, 1929 in Linville, Va., and was a son of the late Owen S. and Laura Payne Wenger. He was a veteran and served during the Korean War. Buck is survived by his wife, Betty Yeatts Wenger; two children and their families, Stephen and Ann Wenger of Locust Grove, Va., and their children, Tyler, Kevin and Elizabeth and Scott and Holly Wenger of Cary, N.C., and their daughters, Julia and Laura. He is also survived by two brothers, Clarence Wenger and Lonnie Wenger, both of Virginia Beach and a sister, Norma Spangler of Spokane, Wash. He was predeceased by two brothers, Donald Wenger and Larry Wenger and four sisters, Dorothy Wenger, Peggy Sattlethight, Mary Lou Flory and Betty Van Nostrand. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St. Memorial services will be held at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, Short Pump, 4825 Pouncey Tract Road, Glen Allen, Va., Wednesday, April 28, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Shady Grove UMC, Short Pump, 4825 Pouncey Tract Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059 or to Cranaleith Spiritual Center, 13475 Proctor Road, Somerton, Philadelphia, PA 19116- 1723.
