Norman Peterson Obituary

Norman M. Peterson Sr. NORFOLK - Norman M. Peterson Sr. of the 100 block of Cromwell Parkway died April 7, 2010 at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center. A native of Clinton, N.C., he was a retired maintenance engineer for Portsmouth school system and business owner. He was the overseer of House of Prayer of Deliverance Outreach Ministry where the pastor is Katherine P. Tapp in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was a true lover of the Lord. Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia D. Batson (Andre) of Woodbridge, Va., and Carol D. VanCamp (William) of Suffolk; three sons, Norman M. "Ahmad" Peterson Jr. of Alexandria, Va., Donald K. Peterson (Darlene) of Portsmouth, and Lorenza L. Peterson (Sayfia) of Frederick, Md.; five sisters, Katherine P. Tapp of Kernersville, N.C., Louise Elmore of Baltimore, Willie Mae Keene of Washington, D.C., Juanita P. Elliott (Reginald) of Columbia, Md., and Carolyn D. Peterson of Abingdon, Va.; a brother, Robert G. Peterson (Rosemary) of Baltimore; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives. A funeral will be Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home at 10 a.m., 685 Carolina Road, Suffolk, VA 23434 by Minister Isaac Leonard Keene III of Columbia, Md. Burial will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery of Suffolk. Harris Funeral Home of Suffolk is in charge.
