Robert Pierce Obituary

Robert G. Pierce Sr. MERRY HILL - Robert Grey "Bobby" Pierce Sr., 73, of the 100 block of Riverview Park Road, died Monday, April 12, 2010, in his home. Mr. Pierce was born in Bertie County and was the son of the late Elbert Aubrey and Lucille Hughes Pierce. Retired from both Sun Oil Company and Southern States, he was a member of Merry Hill Baptist Church and served in the North Carolina National Guard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, E. Franklin "Frankie" Pierce. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Iris Cobb Pierce; two sons, Robert G. "Robbie" Pierce Jr. and wife Teresa of Chesapeake and Mark A. Pierce and wife Jennifer of Eure; one sister, Mary P. Williams and husband Harvey of Edenton; and four grandchildren, Andrea, Katie, Thomas and Vicktoria Pierce. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor, N.C., by the Rev. Roger Kiker. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and all other times at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to any chapter of the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.millerfhc.com.
