Roland Halstead Obituary

Roland Otto Halstead III MOYOCK - Roland Otto "Dusty" Halstead III, 52, of the 100 block of Shark St., passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 6, 2010. Born in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Roland Otto Halstead Jr. and the late Nancy Waterfield Halstead. He was a superintendent for Precon Construction Company, Chesapeake. Mr. Halstead was an avid outdoorsman and a great lover of life. He was a loving husband, father and friend to many and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Patty Twiford Halstead; his daughter, Keri Leigh Halstead and fiancé Marty Williams Jr. of Moyock; his sister, Cindy Whitehead and husband Glen of Beaufort, N.C.; brothers, Mark Halstead and wife Ashlyn of Harkers Island, N.C., and Matthew Halstead of Beaufort, N.C.; a stepmother, Jane Halstead; stepbrothers, Steve and Brian Halstead, both of Charlotte, N.C.; his faithful canine companion, Roxy; and his "granddog," Diesel. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 11, at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. Pastor James Harrington will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the residence. In lieu of flowers, love offerings may be made in memory to the Dusty Halstead Memorial Fund, for the future benefit of his daughter, Keri c/o Bank of Hampton Roads.
