Shirley Becton Obituary

Shirley Mae Becton NORFOLK - Shirley Mae Becton, 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Nov. 24, 2009, at Sentara Leigh Hospital. She was born to the late Henry and Mary C. Hawkins. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Becton. Shirley was a loving and kind sister, aunt, niece and friend. Shirley was a member of Way of the Cross, ELIM. She is survived by one sister, Phyllis McFarland (Rufus); one niece, Xaviera McFarland; two nephews, Hannabal McFarland (Akhira) and Tyree McFarland; two aunts, Barbara Parnther and Maxine C. Goodman (Leon); five great- nieces, Imani McFarland, Tyonna Gibson, Naja McFarland, Hanna McFarland and Ty'Asia McFarland; a godson, Ervin Uzzle; a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at noon Saturday in Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, 1057 Kennedy St. Dr. Shelton Murphy will officiate. Interment will be at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 2819 Corprew Ave. one hour prior to service for procession to the church. Condolences may be offered at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
