Sandy,
Gail and I send our heartfelt condolences to you and all the family. I was not surprised to learn that Wes faced the end with courage and tranquility. That was his nature. His shipmates knew we could rely on him to bring fresh perspectives as we carried out our mission, and that he would speak his mind, pro or con, with clarity and respect. His commitment and loyalty to the Navy and our country were never in doubt. The naval community has lost an outstanding officer and we have lost a faithful friend.
May you find comfort and strength at this time of sorrow in the grace of God and the arms of your loving family.
God bless and keep you,
Milt and Gail

Words cannot convey how sorry we were to hear about Wes. Our only consolation is that we do have some great memories of many happy times we were able to share over the years. Wes was a true patriot and an outstanding Navy officer. Our prayers and sincere condolences are with you and the girls.
