Willie Reeves Obituary

Willie L. Reeves CHESAPEAKE - Willie Lloyd Reeves, 92, formerly of Portsmouth and known as "Bugs" or "Lloyd," made his final transition Oct. 6, 2010 at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. Born in Gilmerton, Va., Aug. 12, 1918, he was the only child of the late Mary Magdeline Williams Reeves and Freeman Reeves. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his son, attorney Willie Lloyd Reeves Jr.; daughter, Loretta Reeves; former wife, Cornetta Riddick Reeves; adopted daughter, Queen Wiggins; dedicated friend, Earl Jefferson; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, in Ebenezer Baptist Church, Portsmouth. The family will receive friends at 409 Patriot Lane, Chesapeake. Viewing will begin today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The body will be in the church at 11 a.m. Final arrangements are entrusted to Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham St., Portsmouth.
