Wilma Kmetz Obituary

Wilma Jean Kmetz VIRGINIA BEACH- Wilma Jean Kmetz, 71, entered into eternal life Nov. 6, 2010. A native of Johnstown, Pa., Jean was known for her spunk and determination to overcome any challenge. A beloved mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family and was always thoughtful of others. Jean dedicated more than 25 years to enlightening children as an elementary school teacher in Pennsylvania, Baltimore and Virginia Beach city schools. Jean was an active member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was an avid sports fan, who was dedicated to the New York Mets and New York Jets, but was always willing to discuss other players and enjoyed a great game. Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Laura Whitley and is survived by her daughter, Lisa Carter; sons, Brian Kmetz and William Kmetz; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted for Jean at 11 a.m. in Star of the Sea Catholic Church Saturday, Dec. 4. The family will receive friends at H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, Friday, Dec. 3, from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Star of the Sea Catholic School. Mother was such a loving person who loved her children and
did so much for other young people. Remember years of working with scouts and activities in the Green Run Community. May memories of
