Virginia Nero Obituary

Virginia B. Nero CHESAPEAKE - Virginia B. Nero, 88, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Virginia worked as the bookkeeper at Great Bridge High School. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she was the choir mother. After raising a family in Great Bridge, she retired to Southern Shores, N.C., and spent her final years at Cedar Manor Assisted Living in Chesapeake. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard C. Nero. She is survived by her three sons, Joseph R. Nero of El Dorado Hills, Calif., Leonard L. Nero of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Marshall L. Nero of Chesapeake; her two grandchildren, Anna and Matthew Nero; and a great-grandchild, Eli Nero. Memorial donations may be made in Virginia's name to the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center Foundation. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23320. Friends are invited to sign the online guest book at www.omanfh.com.

Dear Mr. Nero and Family,
I am very sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I did not know your Mom real well but she always had a smile and hello for me as she went rolling down the halls of Cedar Manor....sometimes zooming! I hope your sadness will pass quickly as you take time to remember all the wonderful times you shared with her.
