Calvin Zedd Obituary
Norfolk - Calvin "Colonel" Zedd, 80, passed away on August 26, 2012. He was born in 1931 to the late Joseph and Mollie Zedd in Virginia. He was a member of Temple Israel and active with Chabad House; He also was the founder and owner of Zedd Auctioneers Ltd., and was an auctioneer for 50 years. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife; Peggy Zedd, children; Loree Graley ( Stephen) of Virginia Beach, Michael Glisson ( Tina) of League County, TX, and Stephen Zedd (Teri) of Norfolk, VA, siblings; Bennie Zedd (Gertrude), Beatrice (Sidney) Wolff, Bessie Rita Zedd; grandchildren; Alexandra, Maxwell, Allen, Crawford, Gabriel, Ava Malkah. A funeral service will be held in Altmeyer Funeral Home - Southside Chapel 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach on Wednesday at 12:00 pm with Rabbi Michael Panitz officiating. Meal of Consolation will be held in Temple Israel following services. Please visit www.altmeyer.com to express condolences to the family.

My family moved to Nelson Co 4 years ago, so I'm not always on top of the news in Norfolk. We are saddened by Calvin's passing, but will always remember his wit , skill as an auctioneer/salesman, his kindness & generosity. My dad Sidney & cousin Leslie,told me many entertaining stories of their adventures over the years with Calvin, & from my times as a struggling young attorney, I can attribute probably 80% of my office equipment & furnishings to him...Good stuff-still have it :)

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'll never forget everything he taught me in the 15 years I've worked for him. He told me so many times that when he was finished teaching me, I would be able to go to Wall Street. God bless you all.

Dear Family of my dear cousin Calvin,
We've lost a mensch in the true sense of the word. He was always there for me and for the family. My biggest regret is not being able to take a flying carpet from 8000 miles away to be with you on this saddest of days.No doubt Calvin could have made it happen.

Mrs Peggy,Loree,an Stephen sorry for ur loss. Such a shocker to me. Wish we could make it but we had an aunt pass yesterday an the funerals are at the same time. Molly sent up a special prayer for u all tonight. Ciara is very upset. Stand strong for each other. Hope to see yall soon.We love u yall.
