Gilbert Booker Obituary
Suffolk - Gilbert W. Booker 96, passed on October 26, 2014, at Mayfair House in Portsmouth, VA. He was born in New Rochelle, NY. He retired after over 30 years as an Engineer Manager for General Electric. During World War II, he served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Martha B. Lancaster, a brother, George R. Booker, nieces, nephews, other relatives and relatives.
Funeral Saturday, November 1, 2014 11:00 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham Street, Portsmouth, VA. The interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, VA. Viewing will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of my Uncle Gil. Besides engineering, I shared a few hobbies with him. Uncle Gil gave me my first set of golf clubs, which I eventually gave to my brother Dean. Uncle Gil and I were the only ones in the family who enjoyed Ballantine Ale, we didn't let anyone else near it at the Picnic at Croton! Uncle Gil loved women's basketball at Old Dominion University. The family will miss you.
