PEORIA - Edith G. Case, age 89, of Peoria passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at 11:30 p.m. at her residence.
She was born July 26, 1923, in Peoria to Harry and Prudence (Quinlan) Gillespie. She married Martin Case on June 28, 1942, in Peoria. He passed away in Chicago in 1980.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Gillespie Jr. and Frank Gillespie.
Survivors include several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Edith worked for Hiram Walker for 24 years until its closing. While there she held the position of private secretary to the president of Hiram Walker.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at 2 p.m. at American Mausoleum in Peoria. Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

I took care of Edith at Proctor Hospital. I am so sorry for your loss. She was a jewel. May she rest in peace, and I will be praying for the family.

I am so sorry for everyones loss Edith was my father in laws cousin and I had the pleasure of speaking with her last Wednesday while she was a patient at Proctor I had a grandson born Tuesday, it was great to talk to her am so sorry she is now gone may she rest in peace.
