BLOOMINGTON - John C. Fesler, 58, of Bloomington, Ill., formerly of Mackinaw, Ill., died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Manor Care in Normal.
John was born May 4, 1952, in Bloomington to Walter and Ethel White Fesler. John married Charlotte Peine on July 19, 1986. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Ethel Fesler of Mackinaw; one sister, Ginny (Dean) Bartges of Bloomington; one niece, Merry Jo Wilson; one nephew, Sam Wilson; and his two dogs, Frankie and Fred.
John was a member of Mackinaw United Methodist Church, Antique Auto Club of Bloomington and Community Band of Bloomington-Normal.
John also had taught at Heartland College and Illinois State University.
John played music for many years at Conklin Theater in Goodfield.
John was a devoted antique car enthusiast. He was also very knowledgeable and inspired by Thomas Edison and Henry Ford.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Mackinaw United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jack Wolfe will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at the Methodist Church. Haensel Funeral Home in Mackinaw is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will be in Mackinaw Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of John to the Community Band of Bloomington-Normal, c/o Mike Wallace, 8155 N. 1750 East Road, Bloomington, IL 61704.

Charlotte and Ethel,
So sorry to read of the death of John. I so enjoyed talking to him about the family history. He was so knowledgeable about it and so willing to help me and share.
