PEORIA - Clara C. Huber, age 91, of Peoria passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at the Apostolic Christian Skylines in Peoria.
Clara was born on Oct. 15, 1917, in Oldenburg, Germany, to Fred and Christine (Ehmen) Schneider. She married Benjamin C. Huber on Jan. 14, 1940, in Melvin, Ill. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1980.
Clara also was preceded in death by one daughter, Delores; and two brothers, John and Henry Schneider.
Surviving are one son, Wayne (Beverly) Huber of Peoria; one daughter, Marilyn (Thomas) Sturtevant of Peoria; one grandson, Tim (Jamie) Huber of Peoria; two great-grandsons, Dalton and Daniel Huber; and many nieces and nephews.
Clara came to America when she was 5 years old.
She was a housewife and a member of the Sheridan Road Apostolic Christian Church.
She was an election judge for the city of Peoria and a volunteer at her church and the Apostolic Christian Skylines for many years.
Her favorite pastime was working in her flower garden. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Private funeral services with no visitation will be held at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home. Ministers of the church will officiate. Burial will be Saturday in the South Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Fairbury, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Skylines endowment fund, 7023 NE Skyline Drive, Peoria, IL 61614.
