Richard Winship
GOOD HOPE - Richard W. (Dick) Winship, 83, of Good Hope, IL, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Sunday Feb. 19, 2017, at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 30, 1934, in Peoria, IL, to George and Mary Weeks Winship.
He is survived by his wife, Sara; a sister, Pat Lambert of New Jersey; 2 sons, Jeff and Kevin of East Peoria; a daughter, Cara (Kurt) Snell of Clay City, IL; 2 grandchildren, Austin and Jesse McLaughlin of Clay City; 4 step-children, Tammy Teel of Bowen, Tresea Luster of Macomb, Jeff Norris of Macomb and Gene Norris of Bushnell; 5 step-granddaughters, Kathryn Gabriel of Elk Grove Village, Krystal (Scott) Everett of Mackinaw, Kayla Sternbergh of Decatur, Kara Luster of Macomb and Macy Norris of Monmouth; and 4 great-granddaughters, Kaleigh, Abby, Sydney Everett of Mackinaw and Theah Marie Rodriguez of Decatur.
Dick had several hobbies. He loved hunting and fishing, especially with his children. They have collected a few trophies over the years.
Dick was a retired electrician. He owned a wood shop in Good Hope, where he enjoyed making custom pieces for his customers. He was an excellent Woodsmith.
Dick served in the U.S. Army.
Cremation has been accorded. There will be no visitation or services.
