GLASFORD - Lora I. Beecher, 93, of Glasford passed away at 4:18 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.
She was born Feb. 21, 1919, in Reed City, Ill., to Leonard and Susan (Westerfield) Maple. She married Ray S. Beecher on Sept. 26, 1939, in Mapleton, Ill. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1998, in Peoria, Ill.
Her parents; one brother, Loyd Maple; and two sisters, Lucille Long and Lela Brown also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Weckwerth of Mound, Minn., and Susan Peters of Glasford, Ill. Also surviving are four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Kopajetich of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.
Lora was a member of the Glasford United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
A graveside service will be Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Lancaster Cemetery in Glasford. The Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home, Glasford Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Timber Hollis Fire Department.

She will truly be missed. She was like a grandmother to me. I remember Jake and I used to love to go next door and visit her and play with Daisy May. My thoughts are with her family. She and Grandpa Beeper are now together along with Daisy May.
