David was truly a southern gentleman and a great man. What you saw with David is was what you got. David had a true passion for his profession and really cared about how a homeowner or business owner felt. I have had the pleasure of working with David over the past twenty years, most recently as a member of the Joyner Overlay and Design Committee. I will truly miss David's insight and guidance not only in regards to the construction industry but in life itself. You will be greatly missed my friend.

David was one of the most exceptional building officials that I have worked with in my 30 years of planning. He had a balance of what was required and how to make it work. He was an outstanding individual with a great sense of both humor and irony. He was truly a professional and a nd a great man. I was proud to have worked with and known him. He will be missed
