Albert Rowbotham Obituary

MARBLEHEAD: Albert J. Rowbotham, 78, of Marblehead, OH, and formerly of Ellsworth, OH, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 16, 1931 in Youngstown, the son of the late James and Ruth (Ellis) Rowbotham. He married Doris Gould on June 17, 1950 and she survives.
Mr. Rowbotham was a stationary engineer supervisor for Ohio Edison at the Niles Power Plant retiring in 1990 after 36 years with the company. He was a member of Firelands Presbyterian Church, Port Clinton, and formerly a member of Ellsworth Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder, Sunday School Superintendent and the representative for the Boy Scouts of America Council and a charter member of Youngstown Westside Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Chaney High School in Youngstown and he attended Kent State Trumbull Branch for two years. Mr. Rowbotham was the president of the Marblehead Lighthouse Society from 2008-2009; past member of Berlin-Ellsworth Ruritan; a charter member of Ellsworth Vol. Fire Department; Past-president of Western-Reserve Athletic Booster Club; and past president of Niles Power Plant Men's ALPHA Club.
Albert loved fishing, boating, woodworking, and traveling. He will be deeply missed by his loving family.
Surviving are his wife, Doris; son, Terry (Janette); daughters, Claudia (John), Sally (Frank); grandchildren, Jamie (Julie), Jeremy (Julia), Christopher (Julie), Craig (Cori); nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Bert Rowbotham.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arthur, James and Don; and sisters, Lillian Turner, Thelma Jenkins and Rachel Owens.
Funeral services will be conducted by Reverend Jeanne Gay 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside—Marblehead, OH, where visitation will be held Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society or Stein Hospice. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.neideckerleveckcrosser.com
