Howard W. LaBine I

OAK HARBOR: Howard W. LaBine I, 83, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Friday, December 10, 2010 at his residence.

He was born at his residence in Oak Harbor on April 7, 1927 to Noah and Anna (Gardner) LaBine. On April 21, 1949 Howard married LaDonna Knopp, and she survives. For 30 years Howard worked for EAD in Port Clinton, Ohio as a carpenter. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Martin, Ohio. Howard loved to hunt, trap, and commercial fish. He also cleaned geese for many years known as LaBine Goose Cleaning.

Howard is survived by his wife, LaDonna; sons, Howard (Lori) LaBine II, and Larson (Brenda) LaBine; grandchildren, Sara and Billy LaBine; step grandchildren, Calvin, Jamie, and Tim Metcalf; great grandchild, Jasmine LaBine; sisters, Ruth Bohms, and Esther Bohms.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Matthew LaBine; brother, Joseph LaBine; and sister, Anna Shofner.

Visitation for Howard will be Tuesday December 14, 2010 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Martin, Ohio with the funeral to follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown, Ohio. Memorial contributions in memory of Howard may be directed to the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Martin, Ohio. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor is handling the arrangments.
