Jones III, Booker T. (October 6, 1964 - December 17, 2014) The day dawned for Booker T. Jones III on October 6, 1964 in Gary, IN. He was born to Willette (Armstrong) Jones and Booker T. Jones II. In 1982 he graduated from Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, CA. After graduation he attended Los Angeles Community College. He was a songwriter, music engineer and music producer. Booker T. loved his friends in Gary: Derrick Robinson, Jun Hermie Stewart, Smoothie Claude Jackson, and Eddie Joe Beers. He leaves behind: wife, Marta de Carvalho; ex-wife, Nina Jones; one daughter, Jade Jones; two sons, Booker T. Jones IV, TJ, Nijel Jones; and one granddaughter, Sydney Nizhoni Jones. Visitation Tuesday, December 23, 2014, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Powell Coleman Funeral Home, 3200 W. 15th Ave., Gary, IN 46404.

I think about you everyday, Best Boy #2, I talk to you from my wall. Still, I can't believe that you are no longer here, I expect you to come through the door any minute.

The thing we all have to believe and accept is that life as we know it can be 5 months or 50 years. Whenever our work is done it will be time for us to leave. Your work was done and you had to leave but you left a legacy.

My goodness I just read this and I'm floored... I knew Booker and his Mon GiG they lived next door to me and my Mom in Los Angeles in the 70s on 24th street I still stayed close to them when they moved to Detroit and 3rd street here in LA ..I saw his mom two weeks before she died in 1988... I often wondered what ever happened to BookerT. I'm so sad and shocked to read of his death almost 4 years later.. Wow. God Bless him and the rest of his family...
