Bob and I were raised in the same neighborhood and our families were great friends.Its been very difficult to to stay abreast of old friends since I moved away in 2006.

I attended West Side from 1981-1983, and Mr. Redding was a big part of everything West Side Auditorium, where we performed so often. I miss you Mr. Redding, you had a profound and positive effect on so many of us, and helped to mold our young minds and talents. Continued Peaceful Rest.

To the family of Mr. Bob Redding:
As a West Side alum, I am glad to have known Mr. Redding and appreciated his presence as Assistant Principal during my time as a student at West Side Leadership Academy. Though he was not my class principal, he certainly was supportive of the many events, activities and causes I promoted as a Class President and student. Looking back, I can say that he provided a good example as a man of leadership, character, talent, respect and care. He will certainly be missed, but certainly remembered for these attributes and many more.
My prayers and thoughts are with you in this time of bereavement. May God's grace keep you, His mercies renew you, His rod and staff comfort you and His love ever embrace you.

My cousin and my brother will be missed. We called him "Po" Bob growing up and I have no idea why. He was so very rich in friends, good humor and kindness. He seemed to have that unique ability to give you a smile or a kind word just when you needed it. I believe that God has a plan that includes a superb singer/musician, a dedicated educator, and a down to earth good man. His family will remain in our prayers for their lost.

I have such fond memories of my cousin, my big brother,my friend. That was the uniqueness of "po" bob. I never knew why we called him that growing up, because he was so rich in so many ways. He was rich in kindness, wealthy in friends, and able to abundantly share his love of life with so many. I know that everyone that knew him will miss him dearly. I pray for his family and his friends and I know that God has a plan that included the need for an accomplished educator, a great musician, and an even nicer man.

This man was a man of integrity, his profound personality, is still today what it was over 38 years ago. Mr Bob Redding has left upon this earth, a lasting legacy of how a man should lead his life among people in society. We the Alumni of West Side High School will always remember and truly miss Mr. Redding. He always had a smile for me and others as well. There was something about his smile, that exuded a great wealth of warmth and compassion. I will always remember his talent of singing tenor, in the key of the Legendary singer Eddie Kendricks. He was good!!!!! God bless and keep this man throughout eternity, his life was well lived here on earth. We appreciate your contributions to society and our beloved West Side High School body.
