Dorothy Windfield Obituary

Dorothy Jean Windfield of Gary, IN passed away Sunday November 20, 2016. She was born in Opelika, AL on August 18, 1937 and went to be with the Lord at the age of 79. She was a member of Koinonia M.B. Church. Dorothy retired with 32 years of service from St. Mary Medical and Majestic Star Casino. Preceded in death by her parents, husband and granddaughter. She leaves to cherish her memories her only sibling Otis Winfield (Iris); 4 daughters Jackie Jackson, Janice Gissendanner, Jennifer (Noble) Peoples, Darphene Windfield and son Jarell (Venita) Windfield and special friend Russell Chambliss; 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter a host of other relatives and many friends. Visitation Monday November 28, 2016 from 12-8:00 p.m. Family hours 6-8:00 p.m. at the Guy & Allen Chapel. Funeral service Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Koinonia M.B. Baptist Church. Rev. Levern Swain officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
