Jessie Louise James "Bay" age 76 of Merrillville, IN passed away December 4, 2016. She was born April 4, 1940 in Aberdeen, Mississippi. A lifelong resident of Gary, IN. Jessie is survived by loving daughter Katherine Wray of Merrillville, IN; devoted son Theodore (Jennifer) Lackey of Gary, IN; granddaughter Dr. Guykesha (Robert) Gardner of Avon, IN; grandson Chauncey Wray of Gary, IN; granddaughters Rebecca Wray and Jenise Allen both of Merrillville, IN; great granddaughter Ryland "Butterbean" Gardner of Avon, IN; Beloved Uncle Roosevelt (Virgean) Ward of Sparta, IL; special cousin Earline Dyer of IL; special nephew George Mackel of Merrillville, IN and a host of beloved friends, extended church members, grandchildren, nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. Visitation Saturday December 17, 2016 from 9-11:00a.m. with funeral services at 11:00a.m. both at Tree of Life Church 2323 West 11th Avenue. Rev. Dr. Eric Boone officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
