John Britton Obituary

John H. Britton age 99 passed away Saturday February 20, 2016 at Methodist Southlake. John was born May 16, 1916 in Memphis, TN to the union of Robert & Josie Britton. He attended Geeter High School in Memphis, TN. John was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army. John was a business owner, carpenter and retired employee of USX. He was a professional who had a strong will to work and worked until the age of 93. Preceded in death by parents, wife Barbara, children Lee and Alice Mae Britton; sisters Ever Lee Chalmers, Willa Mae Gooch, Josephine Williams Lillie Mae Clay; brothers James, Roy, Curtis and Edmond Britton. He is survived by brother Louis (Bobbie) Britton of Elk Grove, CA; sisters Betty Bates and Louise Marshall both of Gary, IN and 12 grandchildren. Visitation Friday February 26, 2016 from 12-8:00pm. Funeral services Saturday February 27, 2016 at 11:00a.m. both at the Guy & Allen Chapel. Rev. Jerry Protho officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
