L. McKee Obituary

Mr. L.B. McKee, 89, a sixty-nine year resident of Gary, IN transitioned peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2016 at Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus. He was a 42 year retiree of the U.S. Steel Corp. Mr. McKee was a member of the Great Band M. B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Asher Harris, Sr., Pastor. He served faithfully on the Deacon's Board for many years until his health declined.He is preceded in death by both parents, Marshall Sr., and Ruby Lee McKee, two brothers, Marshall Jr. (AKA Michael) and Robert Lee McKee, three sisters, Ola Mae Hayes, Louisa Jackson and a little over a month ago, Mae O. Wiggins, a son, Victor Rodney McKee. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 69 years, Jeanie McKee, 4 children: Diane Fitzgerald, of Portage, IN, Landry Bruce McKee Jr. (Jamie), of Las Vegas, NV, Janice Maddox (Pastor Steve), of Auburn, AL and Patrick McKee of Gary, IN; also 5 siblings: Willie V. Wells (Wilbon), of Memphis, TN, Leroy McKee, of Detroit, MI, Gracie Mae Wiggins, of Gary, IN, Ethel Lee Cleveland, Donald McKee (Rose), all of Memphis, TN and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, grands, greats and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 at: 2pm with visitation from 9am-2pm all at Great Band M.B. Church, 2649 Wabash Avenue; with Rev. Asher Harris, Sr. officiating. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Hobart, Indiana.
