Leona Crockett age 94 years, formerly of Rondo, AR and Gary resident for many years passed away March 3, 2016. She was a member of Pilgrim M.B. Church and active member of the Mission Ministry working with the Fannie Coleman Circle until her health declined. She was preceded in death by her parents Delphia and Theodis Lewis, husband Alonzo, half sister Blanche Lewis and 4 step-sisters. She leaves to cherish fond memories one son James (Doris) Crockett of Gary, IN. Granddaughter Denise. Great grandchildren Amber, Quincy all of Atlanta, GA and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family. Visitation Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 12 to 8:00p.m. at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Funeral services Friday, March 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Pilgrim M.B. Church, 1301 W. 21st Ave. Rev. Charles L. Emery, officiating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.

I really am going to miss you Grandma Leomie. I know you didn't recognize me anymore, but I have the memories you left with me and our family. When I would come for the summer you would wake up at the crack of dawn and cook breakfast every single day. You would drag me with you shopping and going to yard sales :) I cherish the memories since they are all we have. I love you.
