Samuel D. Palmer, 91, passed away at Methodist Hospital on December 28, 2016. He was born in Gary, Indiana, June 29, 1925. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WWII. He is survived by Nieces Wanda Dorsey of Sandy Springs, GA, Owanna Newton of Chula Vista, CA, Derris Palmer of Bloomington, MN, Nephew Walter Palmer Jr. of Minneapolis, MN and longtime friend and caregiver Roy Parks of Gary, IN. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9-11:00 a.m. at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W 11th Ave, Gary, IN 46404. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
