RUTH ELLEN (ROSENBAUM) DEMMON Age 78, of Hobart, IN, passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 12, 2004. Ruth was a life long resident of Hobart, having been born there on April 28, 1926 to the late Elmer and Helen Rosenbaum. She was a member of Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hobart, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution - Mosh-wkequahtokwa Chapter, and the "Miniature Club". Ruth was a former Secretary's helper at Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church and was also active with the Hobart Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Demmon Jr. Ruth is survived by: 2 sons, Floyd (Susan) Demmon III of Hammond, IN and Randolph Alan (Gloria) Demmon of Portage, IN; a daughter, Kristina (Joe) Demmon-McKnight of Hobart, IN; 7 grandchildren, Hillary Demmon, Carrie (Demmon) Wharff, Jessica Demmon, Andrew McKnight, Amanda Dixon, Nathaniel and Tyler Coleman; 4 great grandchildren, Dakota, Kyle, Isaac and Anthony; brother, Herman (Nancy) Rosenbaum of Hobart; sister, Peggy (Bob) Nevin of Orland Park, IL; special friend, Darlene Deck of Hobart. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 15, 2004, 2 P.M. at Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church, 207 Kelly Street in Hobart, IN with Rev. Charles R. Strietelmeier officiating. Cremation services by Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel. Mrs. Demmon will be laid to rest at Pleasantview Cemetery, Schererville, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church in her memory. For more information call 942-2109.

I KNEW RUTH DEMMON IN MY EARLY YEARS AS A CHILD. SHE WAS MY STEP GRANDMOTHER FROM MY MOTHER AND HER SON RANDY BEING MARRIED NOW DIVORCED. RUTH WAS ALWAYS KIND AND NICE TO ME. I WAS VERY SORRY TO HEAR OF HER PASSING AND WISH THE DEMMON FAMILY BEST WISHES AND MY CONDOLENCES.
