Bobbie Hanley

Bobbie Hanley, 65, of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully at 6:10 p.m., Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Avalon Springs, Valparaiso. She was born May 4, 1951, in Gary, Indiana. Bobbie was a former member of the Hobart Presbyterian Church, and current member of the First United Methodist Church, Valparaiso. She dedicated her time to the Challenge School that she had founded to help high school students to graduate. She helped them academically and in the community as well. Bobbie also taught for the Hobart School Corporation. Surviving are her dear and close friends, Ruth Ann Deal & Family, Jim (Martha) Deal, David (Marion) Deal, Jocelynne, Brooklyn, Myles, Conor, John, Kevin (Karen), and Kate (Paul). A funeral celebrating her life will be at 12 noon, Friday, March 31, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, 103 Franklin St., Valparaiso, with Pastor Dennis Deeter officiating. Visitation and viewing will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church. A private burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
