Loraine Stewart-Spratte Obituary

Loraine Stewart-Spratte, formerly of Rochester, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, Iowa. 

Loraine was born Feb. 26, 1930, in Rochester, the daughter of Edward and Alma (Aaby) Zempel. She grew up and graduated from high school in Rochester. Loraine worked in the medical records department of Mayo Clinic from 1948 to 1951. In 1963, she began working at the credit bureau in Hammond, Ind., and in 1967, she was hired by Calumet National Bank, now known as First Midwest Bank. Loraine was married to Melvin Stewart on June 17, 1950. Melvin died on Feb. 5, 1983.

On March 27, 1988, Loraine married Lloyd Spratte. He died on April 2, 2015. Loraine died at the age of 85 on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, Iowa, exactly one week after Lloyd. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands.

Loraine is survived by a daughter, Lynn (Ronald) Call of Park Forest, Ill.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

Service will be held at Healy Chapel at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.
