Peter Jestus Obituary
Peter Ernst Jestus was born on Feb. 20, 1962, in Stewartville, to James and Vailey(Peterson) Jestus. He grew up in Stewartville, attended school there and graduated from Stewartville H.S. in 1980. He enlisted into the U.S. Air Force. Following his discharge, he returned to the Rochester area, where he was employed as an auto mechanic for a number of years. Peter was married to Sara Hunt on Aug. 17, 1991, in Rochester. They were later divorced. Peter was an avid pro football fan, especially a Vikings fan. He gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ several years ago, for which his family are thankful.
Peter is survived by two sons, James and Caleb, both of Rochester; one sister and four brothers, Judy(Dale) Howard of Rockford,Il.; Jon(Jean) Jestus and Jeff(Jann) Jestus both of New Port Richey, Fla. and Mike(Linda) Jestus of Sanford, Fla. and several nieces and nephews; fiance, Cynthia Madison of Hastings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother,Timmy.
A committal service for Peter will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville, with Peter's cousin, Pastor Tommy Jestus, officiating.

I'm also sad to hear of Pete's passing, he was certainly a neighborhood character when we were kids. I remember when Pete was about 17 and he had a car with the loudest stereo system you ever heard before in it. You could hear him coming for a half mile. RIP Pete.
