Raymond Willing Obituary

Willing, Raymond G.

Wild Rose, WI

Raymond G. Willing, age 83 - died on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at his residence. He was born on February 25, 1928 in Chokio, MN, the son of William and Bessie (Clauss) Willing. He married Margene Micheels on September 8, 1951 in Neenah, WI.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Margene, daughters; Wanda (Dean) Genett of Neenah, Sandy (Tim) Leebrick of Kennesaw, GA, Toni (Peter) Hoertsch of Marion, and Penny (Tim) Bausch of Woodstock, GA, a son; Greg Willing of Menasha, eight grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a sister, Dorothy Witkowski of Menasha.

He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Scot, a grandson, Nick Genett, his parents, his step-father, a sister, Bernice (Cecil) McKay, and three brothers, Ferd, Erville, and Willard Willing.

Ray had been employed at the Neenah Foundry for 45 years. He had been the Financial Secretary of Local 121 - International Molders & Allied Workers Union for 25 years. He was a former member of the Fox Valley Men's Club. He was a member of the Wild Rose United Methodist Church. Ray was a loving husband and father; a kind and gentle man. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan, enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and spending time with friends. Ray had a great sense of humor and always came up with a joke or interesting story to share. He always told his kids he didn't need gifts; just get him a funny greeting card. He thought sharing time together is better than anything you can buy in a store.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 11:30 AM at the Wild Rose United Methodist Church in Wild Rose, with the Reverend Yul Kwon, officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 - 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in the name of Raymond G. Willing. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.

I will never forget all the wonderful times we had at Big Hills Lake with Ray and Marge. I find comfort knowing that he is now with Nick, sitting on the bench at the end of the dock watching over us.

Ray was a part of our life at Hills Lake. How many times we shared views of our kids swimming, Girl Scout canoes and sailboats, and the setting sun from days filled with relaxation and pleasure. His summer tan with his red swimming suit will always be a memory for us of those wonderful days of friendship and family pleasures at Hills Lake. Our thoughts and love to Marge and all he family on a great loss to you and for us.
