I also grew up at Salem Methodist Church and I fondly remember Chuck as one of the best and kindest adults I ever saw. Memories of Halloween hay rides (courtesy of Chuck) down Manor Road to a costume party at Salem still reside in me. Fifi playing the organ and Chuck singing in the choir are also happily and richly imprinted in my mind. My condolences to all who will be missing Chuck. I believe I hear the Master saying "well done, good and faithful servant".

Chuck taught me how to water ski. He and Fifi with the kids help had the best Halloween parties ever. I feel especially blessed to have spent time with him after Thanksgiving. He and Fifi were great people.

Chuck was dedicated to his entire family and serving his church. Friends hold lasting memories of Lake Milton summer fun, Halloween parties, and his mechanic skills.
After 55 years away from Wexford, I rang his doorbell on Black Friday 2015 and had a memorable chat for an hour and a half and heard his story of being shot down over Germany when he was 19. He admitted to being scared when he bailed out of his stricken B-17, his capture and time as a POW. But his strong Christian Faith was integral in sustaining him through the experience.
Our nation has lost a WW II HERO while untold people have lost a gentle GIANT friend who affected each of us so personally.
To the family, may your fond memories sustain you and fill your loss.
Chuck, Rest in your Eternal Peace that you so deservedly earned.

My dad, Bill Auth always took his car to get repairs at the gas station on Rt 19. I can still see the station in my mind. My dad always said Chuck treated him well.

The Ewalts knew Fifi and Chuck and their kids through the wonderful family times at Salem Methodist Church. My Mother, Jane Ewalt, was the choir director there for decades. She was always grateful to Fifi who was our devoted church organist for many years and to Chuck, with his resonant voice, for being the "glue" that held the bass section together. And my Dad, Ward, also benefitted from Chuck's skills in keeping our cars healthy!

I sang with the church choir as a teenager and long after that, therefore, I spent hours and hours of music with Chuck and Fifi. The dedication of Chuck and Fifi to our treasured church community on Manor Road are lasting contributions to its heritage and to very fond memories in the reservoir of my heart.
With loving thoughts to all the family and friends.

Chuck's family, I worked with Chuck at the station on 19 in 1961. He was a wonderful man and a hard worker. He was a good friend of my dad's. Took my dad, my girlfriend, & I boating at Lake Milton. Deepest sympathy, Bob White, Jr.

I was sorry to read of Chuck's passing. Many years ago I spent a lot of time at their home as I babysat Roy and Linda while I was still in high school. I was a cousin of Fifi. My sympathy to the children.
