Doreen and family, what a wonderful tribute. I wish I could have been with you, but in Garrett's honor will gladly donate to the Jubilee Kitchen. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

It was with great sorrow that I learned of Garrett's passing. Garrett and I were good USX friends for many years. Handsome, sophisticated, intelligent, down to earth all wrapped up with that beautiful smile, fantastic sense of humor and, of course, his wonderful New England accent.
We, and our other USX friends shared many practical jokes with Garrett while working together. I remember that his lovely wife, Doreen, would send him to work with beautiful fresh fruit to eat. Once we thought it would be a good idea to eat his big red apple and then suspend the core from the ceiling over his desk. The air conditioning made it sway like the pendulum on a clock. Well, the joke was on us when he returned to his office WITH HIS BOSS IN TOW. He took it all with good humor and laughed while we were all mortified. There were many other fun times like this in the workplace.
Such a tremendous loss. We will all miss him in so many ways. My own light burns a little dimmer now that we've lost this one-of-a-kind true gentleman.
My condolences to his entire family. He spoke of all of you and very often. His family was everything to him.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Garrett was a gem, good friend and one of the most generous persons I've known. Charlotte

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
