Lord Jesus hold Dan close to You and comfort his family. Dan was a wonderful influence on my son Bob through his Taekwondo classes. I'm sure he is being rewarded for caring about the children.

What a shame that some of us cannot realize the value of a friend until they are lost.

Dan touched the lives of so many people in every department at UPMC, including mine. He performed his many diverse talents with a great deal of pride.

May you rest in peace now, my friend.

To his family: There are many grieving with you at the loss of this fabulous man. He will always remain cherished in many hearts.

I pray that you may find peace.

I am Blake's mom from Hampton. Dan was such a good, good person. I was lucky enough to have seen him two weeks ago at Shadyside. I can't believe this; I loved him so much. He was such a positive influence on my sons. There is no one better than Dan. I have so many fun and happy memories of him and my family. He will always be in my heart. God bless his family.

Dan was a good friend and an esteemed colleague. Throughout my career at Shadyside Hospital I always thought of him as "my right hand man". Although we worked very hard and put in long hours, we always had a good time working together. I will miss him very much indeed.
