Please accept my deepest condolences on the death of your father. My father, Bruno Romeo, worked for and admired Dr. Archer. He was instrumental for the design of the Atom Smasher under Dr. Archer's leadership. Sadly, at age 36 in 1962, my father passed away suddenly from a massive heart attack. I was only six years old at the time, but my mother has told me many, many times how wonderful Dr. and Mrs. Archer were to me; especially at holidays. I had the pleasure many years later to meet Dr. Archer at the Westinghouse Energy Center, where I have been employed for 35 years. He was a wonderful, compassionate person and we are all better people for knowing him. With my deepest sympathy!

My sincerest condolences to you and your family. David and I worked on several projects together; one for several every long days in hopes that it would prove to be successful in converting coal to valuable products. David was always a valued consultant to bring us into reality on some of the energy concepts that we worked on here at Department of Energy (NETL) in Morgantown. It was always a pleasure to not only talk energy business but enjoy David's sense of humor and his warmth and sensibilities. I treasure my memories of our sessions together. I am proud to have known David and learned how to be a better engineer and person because of David's influence; the world is a better place because of him.

Dear Archer Family, I send sincerest sympathies to you all. Your Father was a humble servant to God. He made an impact at every church that he was ever involved with and he was truly a mentor for me. He showed me how to think outside of the box and not to be afraid to speak up about what I truly believed in. It was an honor working with him in various groups and committees at Mt Zion. Not one to toot his own horn, Dr Archer was one of a kind and I will truly miss him.
Much Love, Johanna (Kropf) Yoho

To the family of David Archer,
David and I were life-long friends from the early 1950's until the present. He was my teacher at Carnegie Tech from 1953 to 1958. I worked for him for about fourteen years at Westinghouse on coal gasification, and while I was with the Department of Energy in Morgantown, he and I had many mutual interests and contacts through the years. I loved David very much and enjoyed immensely his visits and our conversations, which involved many serious subjects and also much laughter. He treated my wife and I to shows at the Benedum over the years, events we both treasure in our memories. I know you are grieving, as I am also, and I wanted to give you my deep-felt condolences. I will miss David, but I hold dear my memories of our times together.

Dear Archer daughters and extended family, we like to express to you our condolences and are very much saddened by the passing of your father and friend. He invited us to the United States some 44 years ago to work (Arnold) in his department at the Westinghouse R&D Center. He was one of the many reasons why we made the US our new home and enjoyed his guidance and friendship at Westinghouse for many years, as well as interacting with him at the Carnegie Mellon University. His love for engineering, science, music and religion made him the perfect partner in discussions on and off the job. We will miss him too.

My sincerest sympathy to the Archer family,
I remember your father as the first person to teach me to sing, he has had a special place in my memories. When I began in the children's choir at Berkeley Hills Lutheran Church I had a tin ear. He took individual time to teach me to listen and mimic each individual note. That gift took me very far in every choir that I participated in through college.
Your father was kind, gentle and patient and sincere in sharing his gifts. I hope you will collect all of our memories and add them to the many you have of your own.
May you take comfort in knowing he still has his arms wrapped around each of you as the arms of Christ are embracing him forever.

Dear Archer Daughters:
I'm deeply saddened and shocked to learn of your Fathers' passing. Our friendship of more than fifty years began with the Chancel Brass group at Berkeley Hill Lutheran Church. He was relentless in providing encouragement for me and many of the brass players to keep, keeping on. I valued his kind counsel and knowing I had a friend indeed. I will miss him.

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your father. I worked with him at CMU for several years and my affection for him quickly followed my immediate respect. He was that rarety--a born gentleman, as well as a scholar. Like everyone who knew him, I respected and admired him. He is already sorely missed.
