On Friday May 6, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Catherine LaVerne (Korber); father of John L. (Peggy) of Murrysville, PA, David J. (Mary Ellen) of Penn Hills PA, James C. (Sandy) of Elizabeth Twp. PA. Paula J. (Bob) Kerlik of Greenville PA, Judy A. (Tom) Cotter of Center PA, Donna L. (Ken) Delo of Apollo PA, and the late Karen; brother of Stella Zafaras and the late Valeria Rupp, and Margaret Mikulich; also survived by 12 grandchildren. The son of Polish immigrants Mr. Poremba grew up in Timblin PA, a WWII Army Veteran Mr. Poremba was stationed in Germany, after the war he obtained rank of Sergeant. He married Catherine LaVerne Korber on September 16, 1950. He graduated from Robert Morris College with a degree in business. He retired from the Union Switch and Signal as Vice President of manufacturing with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family including annual trips to the beach and playing cards with his friends. He was a long time member of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church in Penn Hills. He is preceded in death by his parents Valentine Poremba and Mary M. (Sejmej) Poremba. Visitation Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. FINDLAY C. WYLIE FUNERAL HOME INC., 113111 Frankstown Rd. Penn Hills. Funeral Mass Tuesday 12 noon St. Gerard Majella Church.
