KDKA FANS

We enjoyed the song at Christmas time on KDKA sung entirely by a French girls' choir. That's the only place ever that the Pittsburgh area heard that beautiful song. It was during the Cigna and Gosling era.
I know that you & Robert were partially French!
Happy birthday to Jesus!!!

I think of Marv a lot and as I am now into my 80s, figuring it won't be long until we will be able to try our Stand Up Comedy in Heaven. You're missed, my friend.

I enjoyed working the Pittsburgh Marathon finish line with Goose for many years. At the station he used to drive me nuts with hockey trivia...but in a fun way! Whenever I went to Canada he had me search for a special hockey "baseball" cap...the Sherbrooke Phoenix was the most unique one I found for him. Always a smile on his face. Always made others smile. Loved his singing the US and Canadian National Anthems at hockey games. At his wedding his mom asked how I knew her son. I said, "I know Goose..." She interrupted to say, "His name is Marvin." Marvin. Goose. Mr. Goslin. You were a gem!

When you listened to "The Goose" you were assured the sporting information was accurate and to the point...not slanted to the left or right but straight down the middle. Goose will be missed.

Admittedly, I did not know "Goose" Goslin were it not for his exceptional skill at delivering sports news to KDKA Radio's many listeners through the years. Since he retired, lots of skilled sports anchors have taken to the airwaves on "The Worlds First Radio Station", but, none can ever take "Goose's" place in the history of sports reporting. Thanks for the memories "Goose". My deepest condolences to his family and many friends.

When I took over the KDKA Radio morning show after John Cigna retired in 2001, I was thrilled to have a chance to work with Goose as the morning sports anchor. It was an honor and has provided me with more than a few entertaining stories. My deepest sympathy to his wife Shelly and his daughter Jennifer. Sincerely, Larry Richert

Shelley and Jennifer,
Goose was always a good friend and colleague going back to his days at KQV and through his time on KDKA. Your husband and father will be greatly missed but there will always be the memories of the good times working side-by-side and enjoying a laugh or two along the way. My most heartfelt condolences.

Dear Shelly and Jennifer I remember listening to Goose on KDKA as many of us did but we met in person when you made the bridesmaid dresses for my black and gold wedding back in August of 1995. Such a terrible loss for us who loved him on the radio and his beautiful voice at the Penguins' games too but more importantly sad for you and your wonderful family. We extend our sympathy and will continue to pray for you.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Goose was our sports director, anchor at WHTM-TV in Harrisburg, Pa. He lived briefly in my home while looking for a place when he started with us in 1978. We shared many great laughs and lots of baseball stories. And what a singing voice! He will be missed.

Sad for us, but, Heaven will be brighter with him there. Goose was one of my first journalism students at IUP and will always remain an enjoyable and cherished friend. I regret we never got to do a long-ago-planned stand up comic routine; maybe the next time around...
