Chas and I were classmates in the Jan 47 graduation class of Girard College. He was my closest friend and an inspiration for over 5-6 years. He made me a better person with a life outlook way beyond his years. I owe much of my success to his influence, particulary his never failing positive attitude.

Before school started one Fall we decided to hitch-hike to New Orleans We didn't make it beyond Chattanooga but the trip and its uncertainties created an even stronger bond between us. Our lives then diverged and our exchanges have been limited to
holiday greeting and family updates. But I still treasure memories of those early exciting years when the sky seemed the limit and we were going to live life to the fullest.

Chas did a great job as family leader and entertaining reporter of his foreign travel. I can still hear his Irish Brogue as he repeated stories he had heard in Irish pubs. He was an excellent actor with perfect timing.

Alas he's gone and we surviving Girard classmates will soon join him. I hope we have a joyous reunion

To the entire famiy from Tooley O'Pat as your dad dubbed me, I have many fond memories of the times I was welcomed into your clan and got to enjoy the sense of fun he instilled in everything. The penguin club was just one. Reading his story has made me realize that while I may not have known all of his remarkable achievements and kindnesses, I knew the one I am guessing he cherished most -- his family.

To all my wonderful cousins,

It is very sad to here of your dad's passing, as he was such great dad and person. He will now be hanging out with Mum Plum and Gussie helping to watch over us all and the farm. Thanks to him the Penguin Club will live on and we will forever like cold water.

Growing up at St James, there were several people that helped shape us in our walk with Christ, Mr. Weiss was one of them. I will remember his big smile and ability to make us laugh. His door was always open and his love for his family was endless. Mr. Weiss will live in my heart forever.
Mrs. Weiss and family, May the grace of God be with you.

We are very saddened to hear of Charlie's passing. He was a man of such positive outlook and spirit, and never without a ready line and laugh. I recall him playing soccer with the children of Aqua Viva in Guatemala in 1987, shades of athletic stardom still came through.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Robin and all of the Weisses and Scotts.

To Robin and all you guys, So sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. Charlie Weiss was a gentleman and a comic. He was always willing to offered up a "Murphy" joke and I still share some of those jokes today. OFten I would go to Morning Prayer at St. James and Charlie was always there to lead it....5 days a week starting at 8 AM...if he was in town.
Charlie had some great stories to tell and shared with me the time he was the junior attorney on the law team that helped my dad sue the Teamsters....and they won!
We will miss you Charlie. May you now be in the arms of Jesus!
