GAYDOS ALBERT
95, formerly of Harmar, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, in Concordia at Ridgewood Place where he was residing. He was born in Kinloch on March 13, 1918, to the late Adam and Eva Kustic-Franko Gaydos and has been a lifelong resident of the community. Mr. Gaydos served in the United States Army under the command of General George Patton of the 3rd Army 4th Armored Division as a forward observer. Albert fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was proud to be one of Patton's finest. After the service, he worked as a coal miner for Harmar Coal Co. for 42 years before retiring. Mr. Gaydos was a member of the Springdale Veterans Association and the United Mine Workers of America. He enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening and taking long walks with his dog, Ollie. Survivors include siblings, Albert P. (Joanne) Gaydos of Harwick, Paulette (Bob) Reddinger of Leechburg, Nancy Connelly of Mercer, Judy Gaydos of Penn Hills, Daniel W. Gaydos of New Kensington; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Betush Gaydos; three brothers, John , Paul and Rudy Gaydos; and one sister, Margaret Gaydos; daughter-in-law, Diane (Messina) Gaydos; son-in-law, Tom Connelly; and grandson, Ryan Connelly. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday in the CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1607 Pgh. St., where services will commence on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Jerome E. Panzigrau presiding and burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar. Springdale Veterans Association will conduct services Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

We were very sorry to hear that your Dad passed away. Remembering all of the fond memories we had as kids while visiting your family in Pittsburgh. We will always hold onto those memories.
