ALLISON VIOLET S. "MARIANNE"
Age 89, of Erie, and formerly of Washington, PA and Mt. Lebanon, PA, passed away from natural causes, on Sunday, September 7, 2014. She was born in Washington, PA on November 11, 1924, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Szewc. Violet worked for Personal Finance in Washington, PA and retired from Imperial Oil and Grease in Pittsburgh. She attended St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church in Washington, PA and St. Bernard Parish in Mt. Lebanon. She enjoyed all types of crafting and attending public speaking events. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Allison, Sr., who passed away in 1991. She is survived by a son, John Allison of Erie; a brother, Lt. Col. Joseph A. Szewc of Titusville, FL; a nephew, Michael J. Szewc of Lady Lake, FL; and two grandnieces, Brittany and Alysha Szewc. She is also survived by several cousins and other relatives. The family would like to thank Burton Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th Street Erie, PA 16506, Our Lady of Peace Parish and Queen of Heaven Cemetery, all in Erie, for assisting in the funeral arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Sisters Adorers of the Precious Blood, 301 Ramsay Rd., London, ON N6G 1N7, or to the charity of one's choice pertaining to heart disease, dementia, urinary and digestive issues, and macular degeneration.
