MATTHEW J.
On Tuesday, March 10, 2015, age 31. Survived by his mother, Lisa Duncan; and stepdad, Ken; his father, Bill Arch; and his stepmom, Debbie; brothers, Bill (Ali) and Michael (Amanda); sister, Jess (Brad); stepbrother, Ryan (Gina) VanKirk; and stepsister, Mikki (Chris) Peters; his niece and pumpkin, Grace Arch; and his nephew, Gavin Arch; his Nuni, Dolores Cantafio; aunts, Debbie Barone, Georgeann (Ray) Garr, Mary (Dave) Kuban, Carolyn Arch, Barb (Dom) Marone, Dottie, Nancy and Joan; uncles, Tom (Tracy) David and George (Kelle) Cantafio; and many more aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by grandparents, Dorothy and William Arch and George Cantafio; and uncle, Dan Arch (Beth, still surviving.) Matthew's life was so full of accomplishments, from his undergrad at Penn State to his Master's in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. Matthew's greatest passion was diversity and inclusion, serving his community with focus on LGBT, geriatrics and the physically and mentally disadvantaged. Matthew received many accolades, including but not limited to Pittsburgh's 50 Finest honor in 2013, the Board of Directors of Addison Behavioral Care, and the Emerging Professional Undergraduate Degree Award at Penn State. Matthew will be remembered for his unbreakable spirit and energy. He was filled with so many passions, such as music, art, pop culture and social media. Matthew was loved by anyone's life he touched. He left a mark on your heart that will never go away. His unending love for all of us was just as great. Matthew's compassion was a light to everyone that knew him. We will miss his infectious laughter and beautiful smile. Friends received Friday 2-8 p.m. and Saturday 9-11:30 a.m. at BRUSCO - NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh., PA 15216. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 300 Pike St., Meadowlands, PA 15347. Interment private. Visit us at:

Bill, Debbie and family We are deeply sorry for the loss of Matt. There are no words we can say that can help you with your loss. Just know we are here for you when ever you need us. You are all in our prayers. Matt is definitely in a much happier and better place than we are with the other members of your family that has passed. Even though he is much happier where he is now, you are the ones that are here on earth trying to survive this terrible tragedy. Matt definitely would not want you to be suffering as much as you are, even though it is impossible. You have a wonderful and beautiful child that now God has.
