DONALD BISTARKEY Obituary
DONALD GEORGE, Sr.
Age 74, born at home in Primrose, PA, passed from this earth on May 1, 2016, in Florida after an extended illness. He is survived by his mother, Millie Bistarkey (95 years of age); his only daughter, Monica Bistarkey (43); a son, Donald Bistarkey, Jr. (46), both of Pittsburgh, PA; as well as two grandchildren, Joseph and Angela of Washington, D.C.; and a beloved nephew, Jason Bistarkey of Wilmington, NC. He lost his dear younger brother, James P. Bistarkey in July of 2001. Donald was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Panama Canal in the 1960s as a Sharpshooter. He was a senior welder for Koppers, Inc. for 35 years and was an active member of the Steelworkers Union, the SNPJ, VFW, an avid car racer in the 1950s and motorcyclist. He taught great lessons of toughness and hard work to his children, and to him, they are eternally grateful. Donald's burial will take place in the National (Military) Cemetery of the Alleghenies on July 1, 2016, at 1:30 p.m., with Full Military Honors (1158 Morgan Rd., Bridgeville, PA 15017). There will be no reception. His death will be additionally marked at the family plot in Forest Lawn Gardens in McMurray, PA to join his Father, George Paul Bistarkey, who passed away in 2001. Sorry for your family's loss. Sue you took care of Don for 24 years. It was interesting hearing all the stories about you and Don from your friends in Florida, Pittsburgh, Titusville, and West Hickory at his celebration of life. I'm sure you have alot of good memories together and he will always remain in your heart.
