DONALD R.
Donald R. Metz was a pioneer in the computer industry. With multiple patents in computing design, his brilliance helped shape technology as it is today. After a long, hard fight with medical issues, Don powered down on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Don leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Helen (Cucinelli) Metz; his grateful children, Dustin (Janine) Metz and Devin Metz; cherished Pape and best buddy of Rylen C. Metz; his wonderful mother, Betty (Duritza) Fedesco and his late father, Perry Metz; his favorite sisters, Kathy Ceyrolles, Debbie (Garry) Moore and Mary Sue (Leo) Weyandt; his adoring nieces and nephews, Ronnie, Bill, Jeffery, Stefanie, Heather, Jenny, Ian, Sean, Trisha, Shawn and Victoria. Family and friends welcome Saturday 4-9 p.m., Sunday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. 15220, (412-563-2800). Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church, 5718 Steubenville Pike, Monday 10 a.m. Interment Holy Souls Cemetery. In honor of Don's helpful and giving nature, his family kindly asks that all who knew him perform one random act of kindness for a complete stranger. If asked why, simply reply, "I did it for Don."

In the almost forty years we have known Don Metz, he has always been there through our happiest and darkest times. Distance was never able to diminish our friendship and he was forever willing to help others and give of himself. True friends are so difficult to find, but when you do find them, you never let them go, because they become a part of your life and who you are....you consider yourself better for having known them. Our thoughts and prayers are with Helen, Dustin, Devin, and all of Don's family and friends. Someone who has touched so many lives will never be forgotten.
