Agnes Bernet Obituary

AGNES M. BERNET, 74, OF AMITY TWP. Agnes M. (Parvenski) Bernet, 74, of Amity Twp., Berks Co., passed away in her residence and entered into God's Kingdom on Monday, May 23, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Robert W. Bernet, whom she married on April 18, 1959. Born on January 21, 1937 in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Kathryn C. (Cimbalista) Parvenski. She was a 1955 graduate of Spring City High School, Royersford. Agnes was a faithful and dedicated member of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Douglassville, where she was a member of the church choir and quilting group for over 25 years. She organized and participated in many church functions. She was a genuine, compassionate, faithful, loyal, understanding, dedicated and loving person. Her life was her family, friends, and her church. She was extremely creative and loved using her talents of sewing, knitting and most of all quilting. Agnes was very involved in her community and church families. She was President and Vice President of the Douglassville Womens Club for years and participated in several card clubs. She worked as a secretary at Pfrommers Trucking Co. for two years and Berman Leasing Company for two years. She held several other secretarial positions and retired temporarily to raise her two children. She returned to work as a legal secretary for an attorney in Reading for several years retiring in 1987. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Robert M., husband of Lisa M. Bernet of Blandon, and a daughter, Joan M. (Bernet) Reed of Mt. Penn. She is also survived by a sister, Audrey, wife of John Glutz of Pottstown, and five grandchildren, Ryan, McDermott, Michael, and Jacob Reed, Robert Bernet Jr. and Alexis Roach. She was predeceased by a sister, Joan C. (Cimbalista) Vanderslice of Longwood, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of her life will be held in Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, 905 Chestnut Street, Douglassville (Union Twp.) on Saturday, May 28th, 2011 at 10 a.m. A viewing will be held at the church on Saturday from 8:45-9:45 a.m. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception R.C. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, 905 Chestnut Street, Douglassville, PA 19518. The Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., Birdsboro, is in charge of arrangements.
